What Teaching Art Taught Me About Seeing
I didn’t set out to teach art. A friend once said, “You’re an artist, you can teach art,” and that simple assumption quietly shaped the next 30 years of my life.
What began as lessons and projects became something much deeper. Teaching has given me a front row seat to how people really see, feel, and connect with art, whether they’re a child picking up a brush for the first time or an adult rediscovering their creative voice.
In this space, I’ll share more than just how-to’s. You’ll find glimpses into the creative process, reflections on expression, and stories from the many artists I’ve worked with over the years.
Because understanding how art is made and why it matters changes the way you live with it. It deepens the experience of collecting, of choosing a piece, and of bringing something meaningful into your space.
